The Firm

Firm Overview

Davenport, Herring & Shimoda, LLC (the "Firm") was formed in May of 2004.  The partners of the Firm are Patrick H. Davenport, Joe E. Herring, Jr., and Nick Y. Shimoda.  Patrick H. Davenport was born in Dothan, Alabama, and he graduated from Dothan High School.   Prior to establishing the Firm, Patrick was a partner of The Duke Law Firm, P.C. in Birmingham, Alabama.   Joe E. Herring, Jr. was born in Easley, South Carolina, and he graduated from Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia.  Prior to establishing the Firm, Joe was an associate with the law firm of Yearout, Meyers & Traylor, P.C. in Birmingham, Alabama.  Nick Y. Shimoda was born in Dothan, Alabama, and he graduated from Northview High School.  Prior to establishing this Firm, Nick was in house litigator for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and was an associate with the law firm of Tanner & Guin, LLC, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. 

Service

The Firm offers a full array of legal services, specifically but not limited to the areas of law listed in this handout.  The Firm's diverse practice gives it the ability and experience to address any legal issue a client may face.  The Firm has the following philosophy in providing these legal services: (1) we strive to provide each client with quality legal service; and (2) we strive to provide this quality legal service with promptness, efficiency, cost effectiveness, courtesy, integrity, and honor.

Relationship

The Firm strives to establish a twofold relationship with each client.  First, we wish to establish an attorney-client relationship to assist each client with his, her, or its present legal crisis.  Second, we wish to establish a counselor-client relationship with each client.  As counselor, we can help each client develop plans, policies, and procedures to prevent or limit any and all future lawsuits or legal crisis.
